Athletic Complex dedicated, featuring blind-accessible sports fields and tracks.

MSB opens state-of-the-art centers for students with multiple disabilities, autism-blind programs, and early learning.

Launch of the 2020 Campus Master Plan.

Leadership expands with MSB’s 10th and first female president, while the school celebrates its 150th year.

MSB partners with GBMC to launch Hoover Low Vision Services.

Adds an aquatherapy pool and five major new buildings.
1972 - 1974
Builds programs for students with multiple disabilities, following federal education mandates.
1952 - 1970
MSB welcomes its first deaf-blind student, forms Scout and Key Clubs, and opens new health and educational facilities.

MSB students become the first in the U.S. to attend public high schools (City College and Eastern).
1909
Launches the nation’s first cottage-style living for blind students.

MSB moves to its current Parkville campus.
1887
Morrison helps found the American Association of Workers for the Blind.
1885
Officially renamed The Maryland School for the Blind.

Under Frederick Morrison's 40-year leadership, MSB helps shape national education for the blind.

MSB is founded as a private, state-aided school for blind students in Maryland.
